Parting Ways was a freed African Slve community on the Kingston/ Plymouth town line.   It was founded on 94 acres just after the Revolutionary War by 4 former slaves and their families.  These people were granted the land and their freedom by the Massachusetts courts due to their service in the war.  The site consists of a cemetary and the foundations of the families' houses.  This site was excavated in the middle 1970s by the late Dr. James Deetz.
